The Drive In Will Never Die: Shudder Announces Season 2 Of The Last Drive-In

It’s the news mutants were waiting to hear—The Last Drive-In will be back on Shudder for a second series. “From our first marathon and subsequent specials in 2018, through this year’s series, Shudder members have been loud and clear: we can never have too much Joe Bob,” said Shudder General Manager Craig Engler. “We have read every tweet, every email, and every Facebook comment crying out for more. Message received. Joe Bob will be back.” Loud is an understatement; the fans have spoken out with the fervor usually reserved for rock stars by bombarding the network with their support. In fact, the series has been a top trending topic on Twitter for each of its episodes.

Not to be outdone by the network, Joe Bob himself had a few things to say as he took in the “inspirational” setting of Street Trash.

In short, he’ll bring the carp, and we’ll bring the love for all things weird and wonderful.

The Last Drive-In’s first season has been full of everything fans have come to expect from Joe Bob Briggs: PC resistant jokes, geography lessons, better living tips, serial killers, wolf cops (not to be outdone by wolf guys), freaks in castles, and more musical interludes that you can’t wash away from your beloved memories. Of course, The Drive-In isn’t closed just yet. The season 1 finale is this Friday, May 24th, at 9pm EST/6pm PST. Join the 25YL Horror Team as well as mutants everywhere as we live tweet along with the event. Simply use the official Shudder hashtag #TheLastDriveIn to get in on the action.

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs series is produced by Matt Manjourides and Justin Martell and directed by Austin Jennings.
