Coming Soon in Theaters: Antlers

Scott Cooper, the director of gritty genre fare like Out of the Furnace, Black Mass, and Hostiles, has completed his next feature, a horror film called Antlers, co-produced by Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro and DC veteran David S. Goyer.

With its gray, dreary atmosphere that reminds one of True Detective upon first glance, Antlers looks positioned to be a brutal horror addition for the spring, following in the footsteps of other noted April horror releases like Pet Semetary last year, A Quiet Place in 2018, and Green Room in 2016.

Released by Fox Searchlight, Antlers has an eclectic cast of veterans (Keri Russell, Amy Madigan), character actors (Rory Cochrane, Graham Green), and newcomers, including Jeremy T. Thomas, the young boy in the trailer, who will be making his feature film debut.

The synopsis for the film:

“A small-town Oregon teacher (KERI RUSSELL) and her brother (JESSE PLEMONS), the local sheriff, discover that a young student (JEREMY T. THOMAS) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.”

Antlers will be released in theaters on April 17th, 2020. Additional information can be found on Instagram here.
