Coming Soon in Theaters: The Call of the Wild

I can’t think of a better way to start a trailer than the famously grumpy Harrison Ford saying “I didn’t want to be around anyone” only to be charmed by an adorable, rambunctious doggy! 20th Century Fox’s newest family film, The Call of the Wild, looks to be a charmer, utilizing the same visual effects techniques that made The Lion King earn praise earlier this year.

As the studio explains, The Call of the Wild “employs cutting edge visual effects and animation technology in order to render the animals in the film as fully photorealistic–and emotionally authentic–characters”. Regardless of how the technology shakes out, the true special effect looks to be an engaged Harrison Ford easily leading the audience to fall in love with man’s best friend in what looks to be a classic feel-good motion picture.

The synopsis for the film:

“Adapted from the beloved literary classic, 20th Century Fox’s THE CALL OF THE WILD vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team–and later its leader–Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master. “

The Call of the Wild will be released in theaters on February 21st, 2020. Follow news and developments on the film’s Facebook page and Instagram. #CallOfTheWild
