The stomping Skinner Brothers are getting Low…

Credit: Connor Hill

The Skinner Brothers release their new single “Low” on Blaggers Records, and it’s a stomper.  For fans of Cast, The View, Kasabian and The Snuts, The Skinner Brothers play music to dance to—simples. Throwing into the melting pot indie, punk, rock; they like to mix it up. This is the second single of 2020 with “Away Day” out in July. Do I sense a slight football-inspired soundtrack to The Skinner Brothers?  Whatever, because with these soaring guitars, stomping drums and chanting vocals throughout its a dance floor stomper all the way, which always works for me.

Formed in London in 2018 and fronted by prevalent songwriter, singer and producer Zachary Charles Skinner their debut single “Watchu” attracted attention from the off.  However, before this was even released they were invited by Carl Barrat to support The Libertines on tour—that’s a stamp of approval right there. Zachary is joined by Chris Humphries on lead guitar, Ollie New on Bass and Alfie Clayton on drums.

2021 is already looking good for The Skinner Brothers. In May they join The Cribs, The Coral and The Snuts at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds for “The Music for the People” event. What a line-up, and with continuing good news on the vaccine front, let’s hope and pray music will be back where it belongs, in front of a live audience.  See you in the moshpit…
