Cinephile Hissy Fit Episode 3 Takes a Bite of Cherry

Hey, Will Johnson here. The great thing about writing these little episode previews for the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast is that co-host Don Shanahan can’t defend himself. Sure, he’s super smart, well-read, a prolific writer, damn handsome, and a truly three-dimensional film critic but, like, what a nerd, amiright? Don wrote 25YL’s official review for Cherry and, well, I hate it. It’s just wrong. But that’s why we do our show, so I can tell Don how wrong he is.

This week’s episode, Will (The Lover) confronts Don (The Hater) about Cherry’s tonal shifts, the Russo Brothers’ post-Marvel attempts at film making; if we’ve seen better—or worse versions of the story the film tries to tell elsewhere and if Tom Holland can pull off such a dense, deep role. It certainly is a fun one!

So, without further ado, enjoy episode three and, if you are so inclined, follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook! We are very responsive there and will gladly answer any of your questions. Leave the rhetorical ones behind though. I can only be asked how I make my voice so sexy so many times a day people! Cinephile Hissy Fit is a 25YL production and part of the Ruminations Radio Network!
