The Batman Trailer Delivers What Fans Want

DC FanDome gave us a lot of really cool peaks into DC’s upcoming movie and TV slate today, and I’m happy to say that their future looks pretty bright. For example, we finally saw some footage from Black Adam, we got our first trailer for Peacemaker, and we got a glimpse into Shazam: Fury of the Gods. All of those titles look fantastic, but for my money, there’s one that stands above the rest: The Batman. This has been my most anticipated DC film for a while, and the new The Batman trailer we got at FanDome is hyping me up even more.

We don’t know too much about the plot yet, but we don’t need to. It’s Batman, and if you’re a fan of superhero movies, that’s more than enough. Instead, this trailer focuses more on the tone and the characters, and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. For starters, let’s talk about the caped crusader himself. We learned in the first trailer that this is going to be a darker and more brutal version of the character than we’re used to, and this new trailer really hammers that point home. Robert Pattinson’s Batman looks like he’s out for blood, and when he gets his hands on bad guys, the results don’t look pretty (or maybe they do, depending on your perspective!).

On top of that, we also got a better look at other key players like Alfred, Catwoman, and the Penguin, and they’re all great too. I totally bought into every character this trailer showed us, even if we only got a brief glimpse of them. Something about them just felt real, so I don’t think I’m going to have any problem suspending disbelief when I finally get a chance to watch this movie.

All that being said, one character we didn’t see too much of is the Riddler, and even though I’m dying to learn more about him, I think that was a smart move. It seems like he’s going to be the main villain of the story, so holding back on him creates a shroud of mystery that fits the tone of the film perfectly and builds up our anticipation for it even more.

In short, this trailer is everything I wanted it to be. It promises a new take on Batman that we’ve never seen in a movie before, so I really think this film is going to be something special. The Batman hits theaters on March 4, and even though it’s still several months away, I’m happy just knowing that it looks like it’s going to deliver.

So what do you think of the trailer for The Batman? Do you agree with JP that it looks like a great new take on the caped crusader? Let us know in the comments! And if you’re looking for horror trailers we’ve got you covered!
