Interview: Filmmaker Ben Eckstein

Back in 2018, I had the opportunity to sit down with filmmaker Ben Eckstein, who was finishing up his film Zero F*cks at the time and getting into crowd funding to finish the film. The film came onto my radar due to my relationships with the cast and crew of Twin Peaks and this film featured several stars from the revival season.

In my conversation with Ben Eckstein, we discussed at length the absurdity we were living though politically at the time and how that was coming through in his film, albeit in an over the top, sensationalized form. I mean, Donald Trump as an actual cat? I can see it though.

For fans of Twin Peaks, the director shared some interesting insights as to how his film came to see so much crossover with Twin Peaks, including John Pirruccello and Sarah Jean Long starring in the film and then why it made sense on top of it all. Some really interesting stories here and then also some additional insights into the crowd funding element and what was still needed to be raised.

The interview in full can be found on Film Obsessive and can be read at this link here.
