Interview: AEW Wrestler Jon Moxley

Easily my most read interview of all time was my interview with Jon Moxley. The backstory here is that I worked with Mox in the Ohio based independent promotion HWA. We were friends. We hung out after shows, he crashed on my couch when he needed a place to stay and when he went to Florida, I was one of the people he was texting about possible new names since he couldn’t be Jon Moxley in WWE. For the span of a few years, we were friends.

When Mox announced he was leaving WWE, I reached out for the first time in a few years. We text and agreed to do this interview after a few things happened, which he wouldn’t tell me what they were. First, was his appearance in NJPW. Then the AEW debut. I got a text after that saying he was going on Talk is Jericho and I would be his second interview.

The wrestling world was buzzing about Jon Moxley and to be his second interview was a huge favor from an old friend. Getting retweets on Twitter from him and AEW ensured that my notifications would be nuts for weeks. The interview was huge but more importantly, it was a blast to work on. Talking to Mox, having him text me ideas hours after we hung up…he was on a creative high that I could feel. An amazing experience.
