Interview: Writer / Director Daniel Farrands

In 2018, I had the opportunity to interview filmmaker Daniel Farrands. At the time, Farrands was finishing up 3 films, all based on true stories – The Amityville Murders, The Haunting of Sharon Tate and The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson. It was a busy time for the Writer / Director but also a time of artistic triumph.

Of course we would inevitably speak about the ever topical Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, a film that could have its own book dedicated to its complicated production, complex narrative and studio forced choices that would help dictate the film’s reputation within the franchise.

Of course, Daniel Farrands first and foremost is a genre success story- a fan that got to live out his dream. In the interview, we discussed Farrands remarkable journey including those who helped him get where he is today and his work on the now legendary documentaries, Never Sleep Again on the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and Crystal Lake Memories, on the Friday the 13th franchise. These documentaries are magnificent feats and must see viewing for fans of both franchises.

The complete interview can be found on Horror Obsessive at this link here. Thanks as always for reading and I hope you enjoy.
