Revisiting Tales of the Walking Dead

The fourth series in AMC’s The Walking Dead Universe would be the most different by far. Tales of the Walking Dead was a six episode mini series (with the possibility for more episodes down the road) that featured new faces, new stories, different periods of time but still advanced the mythology of the universe.

I covered the first five of six episodes for Horror Obsessive & overall, loved what they did here. These isolated stories were character driven, which was a huge plus but they also gave hardcore fans a lot to sink their teeth into. These episodes took place at random times during the zombie apocalypse & found ways to advance the overall narrative that will absolutely be paid off as this universe continues on.

Tales of the Walking Dead was a breath of fresh air for a television universe that has been going on for a long time. For anyone who perhaps stopped watching the flagship show years ago, I would recommend watching this spinoff. It should go without saying that die hard fans should absolutely watch Tales of the Walking Dead if they haven’t already, but let’s be real – they have already.
