The Walking Dead Media Day: Season 11

Courtesy of AMC

In August of 2021, AMC invited me to join a small panel of journalists to speak with The Walking Dead cast members Khary Peyton (King Ezekiel), Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), and Callan McAuliffe (Alden) for a Zoom meeting. Each journalist was permitted to ask one question of the cast & had also been given early viewing access to the first two episodes of the upcoming eleventh and final season of the show, although there will be no spoilers discussed here.

It was a huge honor to be included in this panel discussion and the cast was friendly, down to Earth & eager to share their genuine love and enjoyment for the final season of this landmark series. Sitting there, it was obvious that they were proud of what they had made so far and were just as excited as fans to see how the rest of the final season would play out. As a writer and journalist, it made me excited to write about their art even more so than I already was.

It’s fun to look back on their answers now that The Walking Dead is over and we have seen the full journey. Most, myself included, would agree that it did not disappoint.
