This post is partly a test of the new forums, and an opportunity to ruminate a bit.

Aside from Twin Peaks fandom being international, I was thrilled to see the narrative spread out of the Northwest in Season 3. Being from West Texas, it has always been difficult to connect in some instances with big television and film productions. Dallas never felt like Dallas, and it wouldn't be until Office Space that I felt someone got the urban Texas culture right that I was familiar with. This happens in literature, too. So much of it--not all of it--takes place in New York, where the big publishers are.

So when New Mexico's mysteries began to be incorporated as well as California's with Frost's usage of Parsons, and then I would see Odessa? Well, that just ... it added to my experience. I should add that I recognize the existence of Deer Meadow and Buenos Aires going back to FWWM. So, this is a test and a thought.

I would honestly love to see a spinoff of Peaks which would be Las Vegas-centric. So many cool characters were introduced there, and I really want to see what happens next for Dougie Jones, Janey-E and Sonny Jim. I would like to see a lighter, "dramedy" tone taken with this spinoff, with the excellent Lodge 49 series a good model for the tone I'd love to see taken. Lodge 49 addresses a pretty heavy topic, the collapse of the US economy. and specifically the collapse of manufacturing, and the toll it takes on society. However, it has a light touch and a great deal of humor. And oh, that surf/psychedelic/'60s soundtrack!

Have you checked out our Twin Peaks:Las Vegas part of the site? I started my version of the Vegas Spinoff idea as therapy a few days after the Season 3 finale and I needed to heal my wounds

Worked like a charm, too! The Joneses were a blast to write about

I lowkey love it that Canada features in Twin Peaks, even if it's in a salacious sense -- One Eyed Jack's and the Pink Room, Blackie and the horribly-accented Renaults, the badly-dressed Mountie-from-central-casting...I love it!

I wish there was more Canada on TV. We always have shows filmed here but they're never set here. So when we do have something set here, even if it's where the bad guys live, I think I kinda fall for it... 🤣
