Tarek Fayoumi is the lead critic and creator of movieswithtarek.com. He also contributes to medium.com and Positively Naperville. He is also an approved critic of Bananameter and an affiliate member of the Chicago Indie Critics (CIC). Tarek has always had a passion for movies, but his days of writing film reviews began during his teens when his parents introduced him to Ebert and Roeper. Inspired by Roger Ebert’s trademark thumbs up/thumbs down, Tarek became motivated to start sharing his reviews containing his personal reflections of cinematic experiences. Tarek has also worked in movie theatres for many years, served as an intern at the famous Cannes Film Festival in 2016, and is always in the loop with the cinema happenings in Chicago. In addition to seeing several movies a week, Tarek loves attending theatrical productions, live comedy events, and music concerts.
