After a one-week hiatus, Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch is back! You may remember that the “Next time on…” for Season 5 Episode 5 “Detonation Threat” was with Duane Ollinger in the excavator, and suffering from a medical emergency. On top of Duane’s emergency, Josh Feldman gets Duane to agree to approach entering the Keyhole Cavern through slightly unusual means. Let’s get into a sneak peek at what Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch: “Drain The Pond!” has to offer!
That’s Dam Crazy!
Duane, Josh, Charlie Boy, and Chad Ollinger finish building the dam and catchment basin so they can suck the water from the Water Pit. After learning of multiple highly flammable coal patches near The Armory, Josh is hesitant to continue drilling. One wrong drill could potentially cause the entire ranch to turn into a flattop grill.
Once the dam is created and seemingly safe, Duane has the water pump delivered. The team starts to set up the water pump when Duane experiences a sharp pain in his right arm, followed by complete numbness. A producer comes over to assist Duane out of the excavator, and Chad rushes him to the hospital.
This is one of the most harrowing moments in the show’s history. It’s probably rivaled only by Season 2 Episode 8 “Darkness, Danger and Death”. It’s been clear from the past two seasons that Duane has been experiencing medical issues to some degree, but we truly hope he makes a full and quick recovery!
Something In The Water
With Duane at the hospital, the pumping continues. The team experiences some minor setbacks here and there, but otherwise, the Water Pit pumping is going swimmingly! That is, until something clogs the water pump. They pull the hose out of the Water Pit to inspect it. Chad’s discovery is something no one could have imagined.
Dam, That Sucks
Once the strange clog is cleared, they get back to pumping the Pit. It’s been a long day, so the team decides to call it a night. Everyone is happy with the pumping progress, and they end the night with their heads held high. But when they come back in the morning, everyone’s spirits are broken. Will they ever find a way into the Keyhole Cavern?!
