Well, if you were having a blast with part one of my interview with Sweet Meats director Ricky Glore and author Eric M Hunter, you really have no idea what you were missing. One of the funniest interview experiences I’ve ever had was simply too much to contain in just one episode. Today, we take a look at the second movie in the pair’s crowdfunding campaign, now live on Indiegogo. Truly Trudy is a genre comedy that has all the makings of something exceptional, even garnering the attention of SNL alum, Gary Kroeger. However, there’s a catch; it will only get made if they can hit their funding goal for both films.
Truly Trudy is a coming-of-age comedy about the only surviving member of a death cult who is made to reintegrate into the public school system, combining John Hughes’ wit with an offbeat darkness. Eileen Earnest, who has appeared in both of Glore’s previous features, is set to star as the titular Trudy.

In this continuation, we delve deeper into Truly Trudy and gain a little more insight into Casually Cool, as well as both soundtracks. But of course, this is a journey that also takes us down the video store rabbit hole of indie film, with discussions on the 2007 Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino Grindhouse double feature, Planet Terror and Death Proof, Kevin Smith’s filmography, and iconic ’90s comedies.
If you had fun listening to part one of this massive interview, just wait until you hear its conclusion. I was there and I edited the thing, and I continue to find myself off guard by just how much side-splitting laughter my two extremely humorous guests are able to instill on multiple listens. If this is the kind of fun they’re having talking about Casually Cool and Truly Trudy, one can only imagine how much fun they’re going to have making it.
A TRULY TRUDY Conversation Conclusion with Ricky Glore and Eric M Hunter
25YL’s Sean Parker speaks with Writer/Director/Stand-Up Comedian Ricky Glore, and Author/Screenwriter Eric M. Hunter about collaborating on two new projects currently being funded on Indiegogo, and because it’s two movies, we’re doing a two-episode interview.
